In The Pocket's "24 Hours of Generative AI" event marks our ambition to harness the power of Generative AI and create an innovative solution that solves an actual problem. In a thrilling race against the clock, we hopefully end up with a staggering AI-based product that tackles Belgian bureaucracy.
Knees weak, arms are heavy, vomit on our sweaters, mom’s spaghetti. That’s how our team of 6 software developers and designers must feel, a week before they embark on their challenge of a lifetime. We think.
In less than a week, they crawl into a room for 24 hours to commit to one challenge: to create a digital product from scratch in 24 hours, backed by the powers of Generative AI. And their mission is now clear: to simplify the complex bureaucracy that plagues Belgium and create a more streamlined and accessible system.
Simplifying the bureaucratic maze (aka Belgium)
Stating the obvious here: Belgium has long been notorious for its bureaucratic maze, forcing people to navigate through countless government websites or visiting forty-five pigeonholes to complete one or other administrative task.
Our tiger team recognises this challenge all too well. And they’re committed to developing a ‘modern search engine’ or ‘personal assistant’ that provides citizens with a simplified and efficient digital solution. The main goal: to guide users directly to the precise steps they need to take, without excluding anyone.
A race against the clock
As we embark on this challenge, we dive into a 24-hour sprint, pouring our expertise and creativity into tackling complex administrative procedures head-on. From obtaining official documents to applying for subsidies, we’ll try to leave no stone unturned. Importantly, we ensure the information is presented in clear and accessible language, catering to individuals who, for example, are still mastering Belgium's official languages.
Demonstrating the Power of Generative AI
Our driving force behind this ambitious endeavour is our unwavering commitment to showcasing the accessibility and potential of Generative AI technologies. By developing a fully functional application within a remarkably short timeframe, we aim to prove that even the most daunting challenges can be overcome through innovative solutions.
Our ultimate goal is to demonstrate that a digitised society, accessible to everyone, is not just a distant dream but an attainable reality.
