At In The Pocket, we strongly believe in exchanging knowledge. In The Pocket Academies are a series of free evening talks for anyone interested in digital. We choose a topic that’s important to us as a digital product studio, hand over the mic to the experts and discuss what we heard over beers.

Design thinking isn’t new. In fact, it’s what has been giving companies like Apple or Nike the competitive advantage for years. In today’s user-centric world though, design thinking has been gaining traction.

To avoid misunderstandings: we’re not talking about ‘design' in the narrow sense of the phrase. Design thinking is not about designing screens. It is about thinking like a designer.

In this In The Pocket Academy, we'll share our thoughts on how to align workflows and processes of strategists, designers, product managers and engineers for optimal success.

The practicals

The location:
In The Pocket Offices
Sassevaartstraat 46/401, 9000 Gent

Entrance via Sassevaartstraat:
If you enter via the Sassevaartstraat, look for the Belfius Bank on the corner; you will find our entrance right next to it. At this point there is a fence and the first doorbell, go straight into the hallway and take the first elevator on your right side to the 4th floor, this is elevator number 10. If the door to the elevator is locked, simply ring the doorbell next to the door and we will let you in.

Entrance via carpark:
You can park at the underground parking garage of Dok Noord (where our offices are located). To find our offices, you have to walk past the Delhaize (supermarket), and then enter the corridor on the left. There is a fence at that point, so you’ll have to press our doorbell then. Once in the corridor, you can reach our office with elevator 10 (the last one of the corridor). We’re on the 4th floor. If the door to the elevator is locked, simply ring the doorbell next to the door and we will let you in.
