Meet our Frontend Developer, Robrecht
Every month, we move our spotlight to someone behind In The Pocket's screens. Who are the people behind the digital products? What drives them? And what can they teach us? This time, we had a little chit chat with Robrecht, one of our Frontend Developers.
Where’s the magic behind developing, according to you?
Developing is very much like solving puzzles all day. You get a tiny problem, like a bug or a new feature to include, you think about it for a while and then attempt to solve it. For every piece of the puzzle, you may fail on your first try and then try different approaches. In the end, when you finally come up with a complete solution you're proud of, it gives a lot of satisfaction.

What’s the biggest challenge you face as a developer?
Products are never a one-shot bullseye. They need to adapt to user feedback and shifts in the market. The app or website you started with will definitely not be the same after a few iterations of feedback. Personally, I think the biggest challenge as a developer is keeping the codebase flexible for change, without really knowing what will change.

How would you describe working at In The Pocket in a metaphor?
Working here is like having that one 'cool' teacher at elementary school. It seems like you're just having fun all day, but actually, you're being super productive and learning a lot. Honestly, and this might sound cliché, working at In The Pocket does not feel like working. It's just like having that teacher that makes you forget you're at school.
