Meet our Quality Engineer, Kim
Every month, we move our spotlight to someone behind In The Pocket's screens. Who are the people behind the digital products? What drives them? And what can they teach us? Join us for a quick chat with our fascinating Quality Engineer, Kim.
How would you describe your job in a metaphor?
As a Quality Engineer, we’re the eagle-eyed contractor on the construction site. From a vantage point, we overlook the whole process and try to prevent or reveal any visible and hidden defects. Ultimately, we’re the ones who give the green light to deliver a solid building to the client.
Besides giving the green light, I think the Latin phrase 'pollice verso' (with a turned thumb) also applies. Perhaps it's a bit cruel, but we do need to give the thumbs up, or down, to decide on releasing a new version of one of our digital products.

What’s the best feeling you get out of your work?
Being proud of what you accomplish and the fact that we, as a team, create something that makes a difference for at least some people in the world. A happy team member, client or end-user makes my day.

How do you catch your breath after a long day of work?
After a whole day of working with software and apps, I put my phone aside for a short digital detox. Sometimes I take a walk on a warm and sunny evening with some good music in my ears. In case I have no energy left, I mostly end up on the couch watching a good series. Nothing wrong with going full couch potato every once in a while!
