Paving the road to better employee well-being with Securex
Securex, an international leader in social administration and HR, aimed to create a comprehensive well-being hub for everyone. They first focused on improving employee questionnaires, resulting in an accessible portal with an intuitive overview of all open questionnaires and useful information.

01 — CHALLENGE
Automating surveys, primarily targeting employees in high-risk roles or environments.
The goal was to partially automate employee surveys, primarily targeting employees in specific high-risk roles or environments, such as those exposed to chemical vapours. These employees typically require annual medical checks to assess their well-being and identify potential health risks. However, due to the limitations in available medical resources, Securex aimed to streamline this process by digitising surveys, allowing employees to complete them online without the need for in-person appointments, thus saving time and reducing costs for both employees and employers. This would only be the first concrete step towards an all-round health hub.
02 — SOLUTION
Creating a platform that improves the employee well-being
Securex’ long-term vision is to create a product that is widely recognised across the board for everything related to well-being. Not just for Securex clients or affiliated employees, but for everyone, providing resources for improving well-being, such as quitting smoking, exercising more, or eating healthier.
The ideal platform would also offer additional features, such as tailored content and challenges based on individual survey results, fostering engagement and proactive well-being management. Challenges can be both individual and group-based, encouraging employees to set and achieve personal health goals, such as quitting smoking or incorporating more physical activity into their daily routines. The platform would also allow companies to create their own surveys and access anonymised reports and statistics, enabling them to address well-being issues within their organisation effectively.
Overall, Securex's platform would aim to revolutionise workplace well-being by providing accessible resources, promoting proactive health management, and empowering both employees and employers to create healthier, more productive work environments.
03 — APPROACH
Understanding the user-needs and a process of continuous iteration and refinement
We embarked on a comprehensive discovery phase to validate assumptions and shape the product based on user needs and business viability. This involved engaging with potential users to assess the relevance and feasibility of the proposed features and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
The initial phase helped us to outline the business case, as well as a high-level product roadmap, prioritising features for the initial release while keeping future iterations in mind. The development process was characterised by parallel tracks, with continuous iteration and refinement during both the discovery and development phases.
04 — OUTCOME
Building for the future
Securex and In The Pocket created a functional tool that will be an excellent stepping stone for an all-round well-being platform. With its emphasis on short surveys that can easily be set up, this tool shows its worth by saving greatly on time and administration costs. Behind the scenes, we have provided all of the next steps to grow the tool so that everyone can benefit from it. Securex now has a step-by-step roadmap to add functionality onto this tool so that it can reach its full potential.
