Cash payments are still wildly popular in Belgium, but that’s not always by choice, according to the Belgian Financial Sector Federation Febelfin. To stimulate electronic payments, Febelfin is launching Digital Payment Day.
With Digital Payment Day, Febelfin is calling on Belgian shopkeepers and consumers to opt for digital payments en masse by 11 May. CEO Karel Van Eetvelt will cross Belgium on 11 May to personally reward merchants who make digital payments possible.
Advertising agency FamousGrey and In The Pocket joined forces to develop an AR application to promote the Digital Payment Day. The campaign consists of several parts - including the website www.digitalpaymentday.be with more information - of which we made one application.
We developed a Spark AR tool that let the bank notes of users ‘talk’. This is how it works:
- Use your smartphone to visit the website
- Click "scan je biljet"
- Your Facebook app will be opened. Here you can scan a bank note of 50 euro (the side of the temple) or 20 euro (the side with the stained glass)
