How do you make young people enthusiastic about science and technology? By letting them experiment with it! With the WeGoSTEM project, Dwengo vzw and SheGoesICT challenge 7500 students from the 5th and 6th grade in October 2019 to build and program a creative art robot that is capable to make its own drawing.

In this didactic workshop a lot of STEM skills are used, from technological skills to computational thinking. Our Machine Learning team is part of the volunteers who help with the project. On October 17 they even went to Blankenberge to be lector for a day!

The workshop was a great success, and we were amazed by how fast these kids were able to build and program a working robot. It is not only nice to see how enthusiastic they are, but also confronting to realize how digital native these youngsters are. The tech future is looking bright - and we’re proud to be part of it!
